Know the Numbers. Own the Job.
Fixture Limits by Wire Gauge
- #16-2 Wire → Max 15 LEDs, 96 vatios, or 8 amps
-
#12-2 Wire → Max 27 LEDs, 192 watts, or 16 amps
-
#10-2 Wire → Max 40 LEDs, 288 watts, or 24 amps

LED Operating Voltage
Alliance LEDs have a wide range:
8V – 24V
BT module components run best between 10–14 volts. Too little voltage reduces communication range; too much can cause permanent damage.

What Causes Voltage Drop?
- Length of wire
- Lamp load
- Line voltage from the transformer
Quick Planning: Wire Lengths
Using #12-2 wire, how many watts can be on a wire run?
Here's a rule of thumb:

BT System Range
• BT Fixtures: 5–20 ft
• BT App Control: 10–30 ft
• BT Range Extenders: 35–75 ft
BTRE Placement Tips
• Start with 4: one in each corner of the job
• Make sure each BTRE sees 2 others (triangles of communication)
• Always keep a BTRE-5PK in the truck

Transformer Fixture Limits
150W Transformer → ~15 fixtures
300W Transformer → ~30 fixtures
600W Transformer → ~60 fixtures
Fixture count depends on wire length, lamp wattage, and overall load

Bottom Line:
When you know the rules, quoting is quicker, installs go smoother, and trust builds faster.
If you want fewer problems and faster installs—stick to the numbers. This is how you build trust, avoid callbacks, and keep moving.
